GRID Graphic Groningen Museum

GRID Graphic Groningen Museum

GRID Graphic Groningen Museum, formerly the Graphic Museum is a museum in the Dutch city of Groningen, which is dedicated to graphic craft and graphic arts. It is also a course center for graphic arts and there are regular exhibitions of graphic artists from North Netherlands. It was located in the Rivierenbuurt until the beginning of 2015, near the Groninger main station. In 2015 the museum was moved to the Sint Jansstraat, next to the Martini Church.

The GRID gives a picture of the history of the industry and "the history of the printed word from Laurens Janszoon Coster to Apple Macintosh " on the basis of various machines. The equipment present is demonstrated by professionals. Furthermore, information is given, among other things, about all sorts of printing techniques, such as surface printing and intaglio printing. Attention is also paid to bookbinding.
